Below Escornalbou there is a large forest area with numerous examples of Mediterranean trees, among which should outline the small cork Escornalbou and the dominant element, the pine forest.
The first, the Querqus suber cork oak, is the most interesting. Because of the acid soil composition and possibly also because of the monks care to obtain cork, the population of these different from the oak trees, although discreet, is unique because of its rarity, as in the strip prelitoral only find in L'Albiol and Alforja.
