The past in the present

The Mountains of the Costa Daurada host an interesting architectural and monumental heritage. The history has been generous with our land, and through medieval places such as the county of Prades or the barony of Escornalbou, it has created beautiful buildings and monuments that have become indispensables visits.

Traditional and popular architecture has also created buildings of great beauty and sobriety, that we find spread in municipalities of narrow streets, full of corners, adapted to the imposicions of an irregular.

We are very proud of all this territory, which is a live testimony of our history, a meeting point wiht our ancestors, where our past is the present.

Contrast of colours in the landscape

The mountains of Prades, the mountains of Llaberia, the mountains of Argentera, Colldejou, Arbolí o la Mussara are some of the examples of our espectacular landscapes. Red stone mountains, crags and cliffs, dense forests and almost virgin which hide, during the humid months, autumn mushrooms to enrich our plates; fountains and rivers, espectacular viewpoints, mysterious caves and shafts... The number of places to visit is endless, there are places for all tastes. It is a truly rich nature. The gastronomy of the Mountains of Costa Daurada is the result of the traditional recipes evolution, which have combined the flavours and the local colours with wisdom and taste. In this sense, we can offer quality label products such as Oil from Siurana, hazel from Reus or the potatoes from Prades, apart from the mushrooms, the chestnuts, the honey and many others that help elaborating authentically pleasurable meals for the demanding gourmet. The variety of restaurants and gastronomy styles that are practiced enables us to offer a great variety of products. Products combined in a traditional or innovative way, they are what makes our gastronomy different and with its own identity.

Celebrations and traditions are the most direct expression of our identity. Throughout the year, the Mountains of the Costa Daurada offer multiple events where passion combines with popular exaltation. Devils, giants, religious celebrations or other celebrations so recognised as the Battle of the Ash of Pratdip, the carnival, the celebrations of the oil or the popular meals that show our truly character, a way of living very rooted into tradition and land.
